FileMaker Software Named Codie Award Finalist

The Software and Information Industry Association has named FileMaker Pro 9 and FileMaker Server 9 as finalists in two Codie Award categories.

FileMaker Pro 9 is a finalist in the Best Database Management Solution category. The Windows and Macintosh database application supports links to external SQL servers while handling their data like FileMaker-based data. It also provides one-click database sharing, PDF-related improvements, database-design tools, and script grouping and editing.

FileMaker Server 9 is a finalist in the Best Systems Management Solution category. The server software for teams using FileMaker Pro provides remote administration, supports up to 250 simultaneous FileMaker users, connects to external SQL data sources, and includes a PHP API and PHP Site Assistant.

“Competition is particularly strong this year and made selecting the Codie finalists a real challenge,” said SIIA president Ken Wasch. “Every company listed this year can be proud of this recognition.”

More than 1,000 nominations from over 600 companies were considered for the awards. More than 250 independent judges from journalism, consulting, education, IT and other fields selected the finalists.
