Edirol Updates VC-300HD Multi-Format Converter to Version 2

Edirol has added a substantial set of new features to its VC-300HD video converter.

The VC-300HD hardware converter converts between SDI, DVI, HDV, DV and analog video in various SD and HD formats, including frame-rate conversion and audio embedding. Version 2 adds support for more frame rates, optional CGMS-D copy protection on FireWire output, RS-422 control and the ability to save presets.

Overview

Edirol VC converters convert HDV and DV signals to analog HD/SD component, SDI and DVI. No additional device is required for reverse conversion because every format conversion works in both directions. The VC-300HD also converts to and from HD-SDI and SD-SDI.

Integrated audio delay compensates for latency introduced into the video stream during conversion, keeping audio and video synchronized.

The device automatically detects the incoming signal format, so users do not need to specify it separately.

The output signal can be sent simultaneously through multiple outputs to different preview or recording devices. Inputs and outputs can be synchronized with other equipment through genlock. Analog audio connections can extract embedded audio from SDI or insert analog audio into an SDI signal.
