Pinnacle Systems, the consumer division of Avid Technology, is launching a new special edition of its popular, award-winning Studio video editing software: Pinnacle Studio Plus v.11 “Extreme Photo Edition” combines tools for creating photo slideshows with the video editing features of Pinnacle Studio Plus v.11. The software is ideally suited to owners of digital cameras and mobile phones, as the “Extreme Photo Edition” allows them to produce slideshows with film effects and thus create high-quality films that combine video and photographic elements. Pinnacle will present its new software alongside other entertainment products, such as the new nano-Stick and Video Transfer, at CeBIT in the Planet Reseller Hall 25 (D40), stand B100.

“With Pinnacle Studio Plus “Extreme Photo Edition”, a dream comes true for digital camera owners,” says Tanguy Leborgne, Pinnacle Systems Vice President Worldwide Marketing at Pinnacle Systems. “With this software, all amateur and professional photographers can create fantastic slideshows with artistic animations of the kind otherwise familiar only from major producers of TV documentaries. They can also capture videos from their digital camera and later combine them with photos and camcorder footage to create great films.”

Demand for new editing options is high. A recent consumer survey conducted by Pinnacle among people interested in video editing but not currently using video editing software found that 55% use their digital cameras and 33% their camcorders as their main source for video creation and editing. When asked what they would do with the videos, 60% said they would most like to create a stylistic mix of video and images. The study was conducted in December 2007 among 1,583 participants from the USA, France and Great Britain.

Pinnacle Studio Plus “Extreme Photo Edition” includes the StageTools MovingPicture plugin, which allows users to zoom into high-resolution still images and generate a clip directly in the Studio timeline. The MovingPicture tool is very easy to use and enables real-time previews of the film effects. It is also possible to generate the slideshow as a standalone production or insert it into a film. There is no limit to the number of slideshow segments that can be used in a film.

Pinnacle Studio Plus offers automatic, time-saving features that allow users to archive their memories recorded on video or create entertainment films in a few simple steps. With the new one-click web publishing feature, users can quickly publish their videos to Yahoo! Video or upload them to the website http://www.pinnacleshare.com to share them with other video fans or watch them privately with selected participants. The software also includes extensive features, such as a complete HD workflow with native HDV and AVCHD editing and an HD DVD burning feature. Users can burn standard DVDs on a standard DVD burner and play them on the latest HD DVD and Blu-ray players, depending on the format.
