Equipped with the latest Sigma Designs SMP8635 chipset, the TViX HD-M 6500A plays high-definition video at resolutions up to 1920 x 1080i/p, DVDs, digital images, and music files stored either on an optional internal hard drive or elsewhere on a computer network. USB 2.0 ports and a 10/100 Ethernet connection provide access to external data.
The TViX HD-M 6500A supports an exceptionally wide range of audio and video formats.
Its architecture allows it to process not only conventional data formats but also files created with recent compression methods such as H.264 at BP@L3, MP@4.0, and HP@4.0.
Supported video formats include AVI, WMV, MPG, ISO, VOB, IFO, MP4, ASF, TP, TRP, TS, M2TS, H.264 MOV, and MKV. Audio support includes MP3, WMA, AAC, Ogg, PCM, M4A, AC3, FLAC, and WAV.
The TViX HD-M 6500A can also play complete DVD images like a physical DVD, including all the menu functions users expect from a DVD player.
USB 2.0 host ports allow USB memory sticks, USB MP3 players, and external USB hard drives to be connected directly, giving immediate access to their multimedia data.
The digital jukebox lets users enjoy stored video and audio files whenever they choose, for example from the living room using the remote control. Adding the TViX DVB-T tuner can also turn the TViX HD-M 6500A into a full digital video recorder.
An integrated HDMI 1.3a connector carries both audio and video, avoiding extra cabling. By contrast, DVI carries video alone and requires a separate audio cable. Component, S-Video, and composite outputs are also provided.
Through its Ethernet connection, the TViX HD-M 6500A can access data elsewhere on a computer network. It plays files directly from their existing locations, without requiring them to be copied to the optional internal hard drive.
A broad set of data-management functions is built in. Users can manage folder structures and data by remote control, including copying, pasting, deleting, and renaming files.
