The newly introduced modular ink system combined with a high-quality HP print engine is intended to make this possible.
All the new models can be operated under both Windows and Mac OS via the USB 2.0 connection. Microboards supplies the corresponding mastering and labelling programmes free of charge. Specifically, these are Prassi Zulu2, Charismac Discribe (Mac) and SureThing.
The new Microboards MX disc publisher series and PF-Pro disc printer use a modern HP print engine and a modular HP ink cartridge system. Thanks to the large capacity of the individual tanks, a set of ink is said to print more than 1,000 CDs and DVDs with an even distribution of colours. This applies to both the MX disc publishers and the PF-Pro disc printer.
Whether users want to copy and print just 1 or as many as 1,000 CDs and DVDs – the MX-1 and MX-2 make it possible. The MX-1 version uses one high-performance recorder, while the MX-2 has two. In both cases, the drives can write DVDs at up to 18x speed and CDs at a maximum of 48x. Both models can also bypass the burner and be used purely as disc printers.
For companies that only want to print CDs and DVDs, not duplicate them, Microboards offers the new PF-Pro disc printer. The device is based on the same printing and ink technology as the MX series. Its housing is identical too. Like the MX-series models, it has a magazine holding 100 discs and uses a disc-loading system patented by Microboards that separates the discs and feeds them to the burner or print engine. Since very few moving parts are used, the system also promises optimum, lasting disc centring for perfect print results.
Pricing and availability
The new Microboards solutions are available now from retailers. Recommended retail prices including VAT are 3330 euros for the MX-1, 4150 euros for the MX-2 and 2950 euros for
