Alongside an expanded flight schedule, exhibitors and trade visitors can take advantage of Deutsche Bahn’s GC special. There are also offers for private visitors: the new GC bus service promises gaming fans from across Germany an inexpensive journey.
International trade fair visitors can use the six additional charter aircraft for GC – Games Convention 2008. Flights to Leipzig depart from the European hubs of Amsterdam, Helsinki, London/Luton, Munich, Paris/Le Bourget and Vienna on August 19 and 20. Return flights take place on either August 21 or 22.
“By expanding its flight offering, Leipziger Messe underlines its reputation as one of the leading service providers in the German trade fair sector,” says Peggy Schönbeck, Project Director of GC – Games Convention.
Rail & Play: With Deutsche Bahn to GC 2008
This year, Deutsche Bahn AG is targeting not only frequent travellers but frequent gamers too. With the GC travel special, exhibitors and trade visitors can travel to Leipzig from any DB railway station in Germany.
And at a one-off special price: the return journey to Leipzig costs 99.00 euros in second class and 159.00 euros in first class.
The special offer: the tickets are valid between August 18 and 26, 2008, on all DB trains, including ICE services. GC visitors can therefore plan their stay in Leipzig flexibly, without being tied to a specific train.
Connect GC: Converging on Leipzig
Together with “Connect GC”, Leipziger Messe is also organising a nationwide bus service for the first time. In more than 30 major German cities, coaches will be ready for the journey to Leipzig on the Friday and Saturday of the fair. From there, they will travel straight to GC without detours or intermediate stops, arriving by 10:00 a.m. at the latest. Whether a service runs is in the gamers’ hands: at least 50 registrations are required for each journey.
The price of the bus transfer depends on the distance. From Berlin, for example, the return journey costs 39.00 euros; from Munich, 56.00 euros. A trade fair ticket can also be ordered along with the bus journey. Further
