IDS uEye UI-5480-C Offers Five-Megapixel GigE

IDS introduces the uEye UI-5480-C colour camera for industrial and non-industrial machine-vision applications.

The camera connects through Gigabit Ethernet and uses a light-sensitive half-inch CMOS sensor with 2560 × 1920-pixel, five-megapixel resolution.

At full resolution, it is designed to capture twelve frames per second. Subsampling and sensor-level binning can increase the frame rate. Binning is also intended to improve sensitivity because the charges of combined pixels are added rather than averaged.

Other functions include a variable 6 to 24 V power input, a C-mount lens adapter with adjustable flange distance, RS-232, optically isolated trigger and flash connections, and two GPIO ports that can operate as digital inputs or outputs.

uEye Camera Manager is intended to simplify integration of the GigE camera. It configures a network-connected camera automatically, avoiding hardware-level installation.

The utility is included with other software tools for Windows and Linux.
