The organisers are thus responding to entrants’ wish to use the Easter holidays to prepare their applications. DMMA 2008 launches with a total of twelve categories for online, offline or mobile applications.

Even a nomination for the German Multimedia Award is intended to boost the image of agencies and service providers. Last year, 37 nominees and twelve award winners emerged from a field of 368 entries.

New Category Structure Increases Chances of Nomination

In particular, the fact that the dominant Advertising/PR category has been split into the new categories Corporate Communications / Publishing, Product Communication, Social Communication and Marketing Activities is likely to have improved the chances of an award further.

The Mobile, IPTV and Multimedia Installations categories also promise genuine highlights given the rapid development in these areas.

In total, around 4,000 works have entered the German Multimedia Award since 1996. Around 100 award winners have been able to celebrate winning the German-language distinction with the longest tradition during that time.

A jury, whose members will be announced shortly, will examine the submitted entries in two rounds of judging. Afterwards, all participants will be provided with individual feedback to assess their own position in the competitive field.

The best projects that make it onto the nomination list will be presented in the German Multimedia Award yearbook after the competition has ended. The awards ceremony takes place at the conclusion of the German Multimedia Congress – DMMK Digitale Wirtschaft on June 18, 2008, in Berlin.

Tickets for the evening event are available at http://www.dmma.de, while on the congress website http://www.dmmk.de combined congress tickets can be ordered.
