Picturepark 6.0 Adds an AJAX Interface

Picturepark 6.0 introduces an AJAX-based interface designed to make the media asset management system more responsive in a web browser.

“The first customers will gain access to Picturepark 6.0 in April,” says Ramon Forster, Head of Marketing and Sales. “The new version will make Picturepark as simple, responsive and feature-rich as an office application, even though it runs in a web browser.”

Picturepark 6.0 has a completely new user interface intended to provide greater dynamism, rapid responses and expanded functionality.

Picturepark 6.0 is expected to offer the following features:

Context menus can be accessed directly with the right mouse button, files can be moved or copied directly with the mouse, and data is preloaded in the background while the user remains elsewhere in the application.

AJAX stands for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. Used by services including Google Mail and Maps, the technology exchanges data asynchronously between a web browser and server. This enables faster responses to user input and a high level of usability.

Picturepark is used by companies including E.ON, Swatch, SBB and Linde Group. Every customer with an existing ASP or software-maintenance agreement will be upgraded to the new version free of charge.
