On behalf of Universal Music, Exozet Interact implemented the Urban.TV web television service. The Berlin agency uses its TVNEXT IPTV technology to add an important component to Universal Music’s hip-hop, soul, and R&B platform: a comprehensive video catalogue from its artists. Urban.TV provides both a 24/7 live stream and an extensive on-demand archive.
Users can access videos directly, comment on them, and rate them. Messages appear live on the player itself. Songs associated with the videos can be purchased on Urban.TV as mobile-phone realtones or full tracks. A send-to-a-friend function for videos and registration for artist-specific newsletters complete the service.
Exozet describes TVNEXT as the first complete solution for Flash-based internet television with integrated interactivity, innovative advertising formats, and community functions. The solution received the first German IPTV Award in the “Most Innovative Technology” category in August 2007.
