Blue Order Solutions AG will provide digital asset management for NBC’s coverage of the Olympic Games in Beijing from 8 to 24 August 2008. David Mazza, Senior Vice President of Engineering at NBC Olympics, and Dr Frank Rauch, Managing Director of Blue Order Solutions AG, announced the agreement on Monday.
Mazza said that NBCOlympics.com would offer around 2,200 hours of live-streamed material, plus approximately 300 to 400 hours of video clips featuring Olympic highlights, repeats and extras. Blue Order’s media archive would be used to select, edit and prepare packages quickly for distribution through new media outlets.
Up to 40 standard-definition streams and one high-definition stream will be recorded in China.
