Following the industry-wide adoption of Sony’s Blu-ray high-definition DVD format, Sony Creative Software today announced upgrades to its DVD Architect and Blu-print Blu-ray Disc authoring applications. The continued development of Blu-ray authoring solutions reinforces Sony’s commitment to offering complete software and hardware solutions for professional and semi-professional prosumers and at the global production level.
DVD Architect 5 enables independent producers and video creators to author both standard-definition DVDs and high-definition Blu-ray Discs, including full-motion buttons, animated menus, scene-selection menus, subtitles, and alternate video and audio tracks. DVD Architect’s clear drag-and-drop interface and powerful layout and authoring tools are seamlessly integrated with Sony Vegas Pro video editing and production software, making it easier to create dynamic, menu-based DVDs, films, slide shows, and music compilations. Shipping from mid-June, DVD Architect 5 will be available to all registered Vegas Pro 8 users as a free downloadable upgrade, since Vegas Pro is sold as a package with DVD Architect.

Blu-print 4.3, available from May, simplifies the complex authoring process for fully interactive Blu-ray Discs in professional studios or production houses.
The solution now offers integration with Ensequence on-Q Create for Blu-ray Java, allowing Blu-ray Disc developers to create and distribute Java-based interactive products for a global audience. Its user-friendly interface and automation tools make otherwise very demanding tasks, such as creating multi-story Blu-ray Discs, much easier. Blu-print 4.3 includes a comprehensive and extremely powerful scripting language. It saves DVD authors from writing BD Assembly code and includes a function for exporting all project objects to XML files. This simplifies BD-Java authoring with Ensequence on-Q Create for Blu-ray Java.
