Media 100 More Alive Than Ever

At NAB 2008, owner Boris FX presented the new version 12.5.

After the long-established Media 100 editing system spent an extended period languishing, it now appears to be moving forward under new owner Boris FX, which acquired the system in September 2005.

The new version 12.5 was shown at NAB 2008 and is scheduled for release during this quarter, by the end of June. It is the fifth major update under Boris FX. A demonstration version is already available on the manufacturer’s website.

Highlights of the new version include support for HDV and multichannel audio.

Media 100 runs only on Mac OS X. A new purchase costs approximately $1,500. Customers with a Platinum Software Agreement receive the upgrade free of charge, while customers with Media 100 Producer or Media 100 Producer Suite pay $295.

Further information and the demonstration version are available on the website.
