Quattro is an upgrade package for Quantel’s iQ, eQ and Pablo post-production systems. Its core is the Resolution Co-existent Multilayer Timeline, which enables faster, more flexible effects work across multiple layers and resolutions in real time without rendering new format copies, saving time and disk space.
Quattro supports AAF metadata for online conforming of offline-edited material, including edit lists and metadata such as DVE effects, opacity and titles. The open, non-proprietary AAF format is compatible with Apple and Avid editing systems.
Its Multiple Media Engine can use up to five processing engines simultaneously, accelerating colour-correction rendering by up to 500 percent. Foreground and background corrections can be calculated in parallel, with corrections displayed in real time in the native format rather than as proxies.
The software adds support for formats such as 1080p/50 and 1080p/60, faster HD and stereo-3D ingest, the Neo control panel for Pablo, direct P2-card ingest and enhancements for Quantel’s Genetic Engineering workflow. Quattro was scheduled for availability at the end of April for eQ, iQ and Pablo systems.
