Getty Images, a major agency for photographic, video and multimedia material, and Canon have worked together for years and are now consolidating their activities through a sponsorship agreement initially set to run until 2010. The sponsorship begins with the Peacocks & Pinstripes menswear exhibition from 6 to 28 June 2008, followed by a series of additional photography exhibitions.
“Getty Images photographers work with Canon cameras every day. Their impressive pictures can be seen in newspapers, magazines and websites around the world. For many years, innovative Canon technologies have supported photographers in their imaginative visual language,” says Kazuhiro Suzuki, Head of Canon Professional Services. “Canon welcomes the opportunity to support Getty Images Gallery in its exhibitions devoted to the fascination of photography.”
Founded in 1996, Getty Images Gallery is London’s largest independent photography gallery, holding regular exhibitions. Its images come primarily from Getty Images’ Hulton Archive and can be purchased as fine-art prints in various formats and with different framing combinations.
“We are delighted to welcome Canon as the gallery’s principal sponsor. Its professional commitment to photography and image design makes Canon an ideal partner for collaboration and for realizing further presentations of pioneering exhibitions with cult appeal,” explains Louise Garczewska, Director of Getty Images Gallery.
