MainConcept Technology Advances HD Video-Editing Platform

MainConcept GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of DivX, Inc. (NASDAQ: DIVX) and a global leader in audio and video codecs and software-development kits for broadcast, film and consumer markets, announced a new version of the MainConcept™ MPEG Pro™ HD 3.2 plug-in, supporting enhanced high-definition video editing.

MainConcept’s MPEG Pro HD 3 plug-in enables fast, easy editing of MPEG, H.264/AVC and HDV content in Adobe Premiere Pro without transcoding. The latest MPEG Pro HD 3.2 plug-in provides frame-accurate work in Premiere Pro CS3, direct MPEG editing and Smart Rendering. Alongside full support for Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, Dolby® Digital, AVC-HD and numerous camcorders, it supports Sony’s new solid-state camcorders in the XDCAM HD 422 Optical Disc and XDCAM EX® product lines.

The latest MPEG Pro HD 3.2 supports Sony XDCAM EX, XDCAM HD 422 and models in the 420 line. Further improvements include H.264/AVC import and export, increased HD-editing performance, significant improvements to MPEG-2 encoding and H.264/AVC decoding, and enhancements to Adobe’s established video-editing program.
