The Lynx AES16e provides 16 input and 16 output channels of 192 kHz AES/EBU. In addition to the base model’s capabilities, the Lynx AES16e-SRC performs sample-rate conversion across 16 channels. The Lynx AES16e builds on the capabilities of the Lynx AES16, which has been an industry standard for multichannel AES/EBU audio interfaces for years, while introducing several improvements and fitting modern PCI Express slots in current Windows and Mac OS X audio workstations.
The architecture and higher bandwidth of the PCI Express standard reduce bottlenecks and overload, resulting in higher performance for computer-based high-end audio.
The Lynx AES16e x1 PCI Express card provides 16 input and 16 output channels for 24-bit AES/EBU digital audio at a 192 kHz sample rate in both single-wire and dual-wire AES modes. The Lynx AES16e was designed specifically to integrate digital mixing consoles, multichannel A/D and D/A converters, hard-disk recorders, digital audio workstations, and other digital audio equipment, and operates under both Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
The Lynx AES16e-SRC is based on the Lynx AES16e but additionally provides switchable sample-rate conversion on all 16 channels.
Street prices for the Lynx AES16e and Lynx AES16e-SRC are €699 and €799 respectively, including 19 percent VAT.
