“We are particularly delighted because ‘I Got a Rocket’ is the first KI.KA program to receive an Emmy,” says Sebastian Debertin, Head of Fiction Editorial at KI.KA. “The honor shows us that international co-productions in fiction can deliver high-quality programming that reflects the lives of children socialized within the European cultural sphere.”

In "I Got a Rocket," the life of eleven-year-old Vinnie Q changes abruptly when he receives a very special present for the birthday of his father, inventor Professor Q: a rocket. And it is no ordinary rocket, because it can talk, solve problems, laugh, fool around, calculate square roots, toast muffins, and even hurtle through space like a rocket.

"I Got a Rocket" (German title: "Rocket & Ich") is a German-American-Australian co-production by KI.KA, ARD, Mike Young Productions (USA), and SLR Productions (Australia).

KI.KA has broadcast the 52-part animated series "I Got a Rocket" since April 18, Monday through Friday at 1:40 p.m. and Saturdays at 12:40 p.m. Tina Sicker is the editor responsible at KI.KA.

The "New Approaches" category, presented this year for the first time in the fields of "Daytime Entertainment" and "Daytime Children's Entertainment," recognizes distinctive creative approaches and innovative production techniques. The Annual Creative Arts & Entertainment Daytime Emmy Awards have honored excellence in television production for 35 years. The Emmy is now presented in 58 categories.
