In AGOF’s recently published “internet facts 2008-I,” sevenload.com strengthens its position as the leading independent platform for legal Web 2.0 video content. With the overall market growing by 10%, sevenload recorded an increase in reach of more than 82% compared with the previous quarter (2007-IV). An average of 1.75 million unique users per month use sevenload’s online offering.
“We are delighted with sevenload’s strong position in the new AGOF ranking. However, the measured figures do not reflect the full extent of its marketable reach. Sevenload’s actual reach is considerably greater,” said Andreas Heyden, COO of sevenload. “According to Omniture, sevenload content reaches well over eight million unique users per month through external video players, various domains such as BMW-web.tv and BigBrother.de, and the multilingual portal pages.”
Compared with other video platforms that primarily appeal to users aged 14 to 29, sevenload is expanding its leading position in the premium segment by doubling its reach. Sevenload’s high-quality content is popular with more than 50% of Internet users over 30 who have high incomes and high levels of education.
“The premium content on sevenload’s channels in particular attracts web-TV users. Sevenload therefore focuses not on funny clips but on genuine formats and content,” concluded Axel Schmiegelow, CEO of sevenload. “Sevenload’s content strategy is therefore on the right track: only high-quality web-TV offerings will be in strong demand in future. Users expect content that is high quality and relevant.”
The majority of sevenload.com users are men (57%), are between 20 and 49 years old (70.2%), and have above-average levels of education: 25.1% have at least a university-entrance qualification or a university or university-of-applied-sciences degree. They are generally employed (64.5%) and have a high net household income of €3,000 or more (27.2%).
