Rimage Corporation, a leading manufacturer in the field of fully automated optical-media production for CD/DVD/Blu-ray (BD), is expanding its offering for Mac users with the introduction of Rimage Software Suite 8.1 and support for the Mac OS X operating system. Simple, seamless integration with professional Mac applications for broadcasting, video production and graphic design automates and dramatically accelerates the time-consuming workflows involved in producing CDs, DVDs and BDs.
Rimage DiscFlow™ was developed specifically for the Mac operating system. In conjunction with Rimage Disc Publishing systems from the Producer or Professional series, Apple OS X users can burn and print audio, video or data discs fully automatically. DiscFlow™ is a Mac client application that can be integrated seamlessly with Apple Final Cut Pro, Avid, Adobe and many other widely used software programs.
“Manufacturers and producers of digital content have repeatedly asked us for an innovative solution that simplifies production processes for demo discs, test discs, advance film copies (screeners) and discs for marketing purposes,” explains Stefan Exner, Managing Director of Rimage Europe GmbH. “With Rimage DiscFlow™, we have met these requirements and developed our first digital publishing application exclusively for Mac users—with the same look and feel as the Mac user interface. DiscFlow™ eliminates time-consuming manual burning and printing of media, as well as the costly outsourcing of jobs to external service providers. Users can now concentrate on their actual work, such as video production, without having to deal with the elaborate disc-production process.”
Rimage DiscFlow™ offers the same ease of use as the familiar Mac environment, enabling professional users to produce CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray Discs™ immediately with just a few clicks. DiscFlow™’s new user interface is based on the principle of Apple’s Cover Flow, allowing users to browse and select their documents, data or projects effortlessly.
Rimage features
DiscFlow™, combined with Rimage Disc Publishing systems, is a complete solution for fully automated disc production. Burning and printing are combined into a single workflow. Rimage’s feature-rich hardware and software package can be accessed directly over the network by many users—much like a network printer—and also makes it possible to integrate Mac and Windows users simultaneously.

DiscFlow™ is the latest addition to the Rimage Software Suite, which is supplied as standard software with both the Producer and Professional series. DiscFlow is comparable to QuickDisc™, the Rimage Windows® client. The DiscFlow™ client can be installed on an unlimited number of Macintosh computers within the network. In addition, the browser-based WebRSM application (Rimage System Manager) provides Mac users with all system information and lets them retrieve and monitor project status at any time. It also provides useful information about the consumables remaining for each project.
