After being betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his next mission a personal matter. Determined to uncover the truth, Bond and M (JUDI DENCH) interrogate Mr. White (JESPER CHRISTENSEN), who reveals that the organization that blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than initially believed.
The intelligence service’s forensic department links an MI6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti. Because of a case of mistaken identity, Bond meets the beautiful but resolute Camille (OLGA KURYLENKO), a woman pursuing a vendetta of her own. Camille leads Bond directly to Dominic Greene (MATHIEU AMALRIC), a ruthless businessman and a driving force within the mysterious organization.
On a mission that takes him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene is plotting to gain total control over one of the world’s most important natural resources. To achieve this, he pushes for a deal with the exiled General Medrano (JOAQUIN COSIO). Using his partners in the organization and manipulating his influential contacts at the CIA and in the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the current regime of a Latin American country and hand power to the general—in exchange for a seemingly worthless piece of land.
Amid a minefield of betrayal, murder and deception, Bond joins forces with old friends to bring the truth to light. In his search for the man responsible for Vesper’s betrayal, 007 must stay one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists and even M to expose Greene’s dark schemes and stop his organization.
