Ralf Wirsing, general manager of Ubisoft Germany and Austria, said: “Compared with the previous year, this year’s Games Convention once again had a more international face. Accordingly, our Ubisoft colleagues from abroad showed great commitment in welcoming customers and media representatives from around the world in the Business Center. We are thrilled by the strong response and excellent feedback from consumers and trade visitors to our show titles. Ubisoft’s Games Convention finale offered the right game for every taste, whether gamer titles such as Far Cry 2 or products for children and casual players such as the Games for Me series. In summary, GC 2008 was a fitting and extremely successful conclusion for us in Leipzig. We now want to build on this success at gamescom in Cologne next year.”

Udo Schuberth, sales director of Ubisoft Germany, also confirmed the positive assessment from a sales perspective: “As in previous years, our team laid the foundation at GC for a successful Christmas business. Thanks to a balanced lineup, we significantly exceeded all the goals we set!”

“The trade show was also the perfect place to announce ANNO 1404, the sequel to Germany’s most successful PC game. Both trade visitors and the public in the exhibition halls were enthusiastic about our games portfolio. We were once again able to demonstrate that Ubisoft stands for innovation and technological progress. The high visibility of our GC presence is reflected in the enormous media response Ubisoft received from show coverage. Alongside ANNO 1404, highlights included the entirely voice-controlled Tom Clancy’s EndWar, motion-controlled games such as Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party and Shaun White Snowboarding, as well as Prince of Persia, Far Cry 2 and the Games for Me series,” added Benedikt Schüler, marketing director of Ubisoft Germany.
