Europe’s largest computer-games league launched the 13th season of the ESL Pro Series esports Bundesliga at Games Convention in Leipzig on 22 August 2008. With €165,000 in prize money, it is Germany’s highest-paying professional computer-games league.
The computer-games Bundesliga now comes to Munich’s Tonhalle on 12 September with the Intel Friday Night Game.
During the full-evening show, two teams will compete live before an audience in each of FIFA 2008, Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike: Source. Valuable points towards the German electronic-sports championship and €165,000 in prize money are at stake.
The third Intel Friday Night Game, expected to attract 1,500 visitors in Munich, is only one stop on a nationwide tour. Ten events in Germany’s largest cities give thousands of esports enthusiasts an opportunity to support their heroes in person. The tour culminates in the finals in December 2008.
