Its interfaces and supported frequencies provide the necessary versatility. Where separate computer and video monitors would otherwise be required, the CG232W handles every task. Each display delivers high image quality thanks to a 3D lookup table. The color-management system uses 12-bit data width per color channel and 16-bit color processing. This enables the CG232W to master the high-resolution color reproduction required in professional applications. Precise hardware calibration and specialized signal-processing functions support accurate image reproduction.
For signal connections, the CG232W provides two BNC sockets supporting 2 × SD-SDI, 2 × HD-SDI or 1 × dual-link HD-SDI. DVI-D and D-Sub sockets are also available for connection to computers. The monitor’s 23-inch LCD has a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels. Color filters and backlighting generate a wide color gamut, which is essential for a mastering monitor. Colors can be reproduced at 10-bit resolution, or around one billion shades. This is 64 times more precise than 8-bit reproduction and therefore permits smooth tonal transitions without banding. The CG232W’s Digital Uniformity Equalizer ensures color purity and even brightness distribution. Brightness and color tones are controlled continuously across the entire display surface. A chip automatically compensates for unwanted irregularities in real time. The result is that the same color tone truly looks identical everywhere on the screen. To ensure that the colors of every CG232W are optimally adjusted at delivery, EIZO calibrates each individual monitor during production in Japan. All monitors therefore provide consistent color reproduction.
As an additional feature, the display operates at a 120 Hz frame rate for optimal motion images without artifacts or judder and for smooth video playback.
The display also provides extensive signal support as standard, including various dual-link HD-SDI signals and analog or digital RGB signals.
Preset color modes for Rec. 709, EBU, SMPTE-C, DCI and sRGB can be selected easily at the touch of a button.
