The solution, called “Media Streaming,” from the specialist in two-way satellite broadband services can be installed in almost any vehicle. It gives television and radio broadcasters, event organizers and service providers the flexibility to report live from events. Audio and video content can be delivered efficiently over the internet via IPTV or transmitted to production facilities. AAC or MPEG-4 compression is used, with transmission handled by a satellite modem and its associated 96-centimeter antenna. The system is designed to be operational within five minutes.
The complete package includes uplink channels offering 128 Kbit/s for audio and 2 Mbit/s for video, plus a 512 Kbit/s channel for email communication, web browsing and voice over IP. After transmission to Satlynx’s own teleport, the data can be distributed worldwide via a pan-European backbone and global VPN infrastructure.
