Walt Disney and Volkswagen Celebrate WALL•E in Berlin

The new animated film celebrates its German premiere.

The new cinema adventure premieres in the German capital: Volkswagen and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Germany are inviting guests to the premiere of “WALL•E” on 18 September. At the CineStar on Potsdamer Platz, the creators of “Ratatouille” and “Finding Nemo” will delight audiences with their latest stroke of genius about perhaps the most popular robot of all time.

Guests of honour, including producer Jim Morris and German voice actor Markus Maria Profitlich, will arrive at the red carpet and subsequent reception in Volkswagen BlueMotion models. Sustainability, the environment, the future and innovation — the film’s central themes — persuaded Volkswagen to support the premiere. Volkswagen groups its environmentally friendly models under the cross-model BlueMotion product line. They combine fuel-saving technology with dynamic performance, making BlueMotion a response to rising fuel prices and increasing requirements for vehicles’ environmental characteristics and consumption.

The film tells the story of the robot WALL•E, who dutifully carries out his programmed task of clearing rubbish for several hundred years. One day he meets EVE and is enchanted by this beautiful being. WALL•E falls blissfully in love, but nothing goes according to plan. Humanity, now living in an oversized amusement park in space, has programmed EVE to find the key to Earth’s future. The new Disney highlight opens in German cinemas on 25 September.

Volkswagen has supported national and international film for years. Alongside conventional product placements, Volkswagen is the principal sponsor of the Berlinale, Europe’s major film festival.
