Under the guidance of instructor Sacha Bertram, participants will undertake the detailed planning and budgeting of a VFX project themselves. A project will be broken down to the point where it can be planned and costed. Each participant should bring a PC laptop with Excel and MS Project installed; a free trial version of MS Project is also suitable.
The VFX software mathilda will be installed on site as a trial version. Because mathilda is a central element of the training and runs only on Windows, participants should bring PC laptops only. Familiarity with Excel is required, but no previous knowledge of Microsoft Project is necessary.
Target audience: producers, directors, artists and anyone interested in creating or planning VFX, or hoping to do so.

Sacha has been one of Germany’s best-known and most frequently booked freelance VFX producers and supervisors for many years, working for companies including CA Scanline, Elektrofilm and Liga01. One of his most recent projects was on-set supervision as VFX producer for the television event movie “Das Inferno — Flammen über Berlin”. Alongside his practical work, he is an author, lecturer at several film schools and software developer.
