Applications are open for the South Africa Challenge. Adventure seekers can apply at http://www.suedafrika-challenge.de until 30 September 2008.
After applications close on 30 September 2008, 50 applicants will be invited to a casting session. The teams assembled during the casting will face a series of special challenges in South Africa from 20 to 28 November 2008. Participants must be at least 21 years old and hold a driving licence.
The Challenge
Together with South African Tourism and four other partners, Panasonic is launching the South Africa Challenge for the first time. Five teams will compete against one another in different categories and face challenges typical of the country. Only one team can win and take home the coveted South Africa Challenge Trophy.
Panasonic represents the theme of outdoor adventure in the competition and promises plenty of action. Participants can demonstrate their skills on jeep safaris, off-road tours and in a photography competition, while the team will also be tested in an African triathlon consisting of bodysurfing, beach mountain biking and running.
Equipped with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 camera and CF-19 Toughbook, the intrepid teams will head into the African wilderness. They can depend on both devices: the Toughbook is designed for anything but an ordinary working day, and the combination makes it easy to review, edit and send images even in unusual situations.
