Immerse yourself in the world of electronic media at the stand of MEDIA BROADCAST GmbH and Österreichische Rundfunksender GmbH & Co KG as part of
Medienmesse 2008. From today until 26 September 2008, visitors to Medientage and Medienmesse have the opportunity to experience the comprehensive portfolio of broadcasting and additional broadcasting services. Together with ORS, MEDIA BROADCAST will also present DVB-H, meaning television on mobile phones.
“Following Futura, where we presented our service portfolio to dealers and manufacturers, Medienmesse offers the perfect opportunity to introduce our services to opinion leaders from business and the media sector, as well as the general public,” says Michael Wagenhofer. “We already presented the future technology DVB-H last year. I am therefore particularly pleased that this year, together with MEDIA BROADCAST, we can show DVB-H in live
operation.”
Hands-On Technology
ORS, Austria’s leading service company in broadcasting and additional broadcasting services, will again present everything visitors to the exhibition and Medientage need to know about the latest TV technologies this year. The motto is: please try it yourself! From DVB-S and HDTV through DVB-T to mobile television via DVB-H, visitors can test everything directly at
stand number 430 B.
“Thanks to the successful launch of DVB-H, MEDIA BROADCAST is already known in Austria’s media industry as a reliable partner for terrestrial broadcasting services. We therefore also want to use Medienmesse to present our company as part of the European TDF Group with a broad portfolio of further
content-delivery solutions,” says Dr Bertold Heil, Head of Strategy & Business Development at MEDIA BROADCAST.
DVB-H can be experienced at the exhibition stand. ORS is the infrastructure partner in implementing the DVB-H network: it builds the DVB-H transmission facilities and provides services as part of MEDIA BROADCAST’s network operation. This made it possible to supply all federal-state capitals and their surrounding areas with razor-sharp images on mobile phones in time for the start of the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.
Anyone wishing to relax during their visit to the exhibition can take a seat in the ORS living room and see the outstanding quality of ORF 1 HD for themselves. ORS processes the ORF 1 HD signal and transmits it to ASTRA so that it can be sent to Austrian households via satellite.
