A dc days presentation will address the teams, processes and phases involved in online configurators. Every step, from assembling the team to fixing bugs, will be explained. What needs to be considered? What must happen during each phase, and which problems can arise?
Phase 1: Team assembly
Following the pitch, a competent team must be assembled. Matters to be clarified include production techniques; project planning, covering schedules, milestones, costing, concept, technology and design; and screen design, which must find a path between usability and the marketing message.
Phase 2: Concept
Use cases, state diagrams, script, languages, interactive modules, external content, prototype, infographics, screen design and usability.
Phase 3: Implementation
Teams and staffing, templates, coordination and approvals, content management, tracking, freelancers, timing, rendering, post-production and content integration.
Phase 4: Testing
Test cases, test documents, bug fixing and versioning.
