nordmedia, the media organisation of the German states of Lower Saxony and Bremen, has published the guidance to make cooperation between film productions and municipalities easier.
Shooting feature films, reports or documentaries offers a municipality the opportunity to gain attention as a location on cinema screens or television. At best, a film production can even enhance the area’s image and open up new opportunities for tourism marketing.
Before that can happen, however, there is plenty to do—both for the film crew and for local contacts. To ensure that cooperation proceeds satisfactorily for everyone and administrative staff are well prepared when the director, camera crew and others arrive, the information sheet provides useful guidance on the needs and processes of a film production.
The “Guidance for Municipalities Working with Film Productions” is available in PDF format.
