“From the very beginning, we wanted Far Cry 2 to deliver a truly dynamic and freely explorable gaming experience,” said Benedikt Schüler, Marketing Director at Ubisoft Germany. “Our development team focused above all on placing players in a believable African game world where they can experience the story’s real conflicts first-hand. We are convinced that Far Cry 2 is not only one of the most remarkable shooters of recent years, but also one of the best games of this year.”

About Far Cry 2:

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Far Cry 2 represents Ubisoft’s latest innovation in first-person shooters. Far Cry 2 is more than a visual and technological achievement, because the game gives players an entirely new experience. Far Cry 2 features independently responsive enemy intelligence, fully destructible environments, dynamic fire and storm effects, a 24-hour day-and-night cycle and an extensive multiplayer mode. All of this takes place in a freely explorable game world covering 50 km². The story places the player in a war-torn African country. To survive, the player must make deals with corrupt warlords on both sides of the conflict. Over time, however, the player draws closer to the real objective, “the Jackal.” To achieve this, players must analyze their opponents’ weaknesses and then overcome their superior firepower with surprising tactics, fiery explosions and a measure of skill.
