DP Gives Away Three “Earth” DVDs

Universum Film releases the breathtaking nature documentary EARTH on DVD and Blu-ray today. DP is giving away three DVDs to participants in its reader survey, which is now online.

Alongside the Single Edition, a DVD Special Edition will be available with approximately 120 minutes of bonus material. The Blu-ray includes 70 minutes of bonus material and, with technical features such as Discovery Mode, promises home entertainment at its finest.

EARTH, by Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield, is the most elaborate and expensive nature documentary ever produced to date. The film took five years to make. More than 40 camera crews shot 1,000 hours of footage in 26 countries at over 200 locations, some of which had never previously been visited. The feature film delighted critics and audiences alike.

More than 3.5 million viewers have seen the film since its cinema release. It was the first nature documentary to receive Germany’s Golden Screen award. The German-British production by Greenlight Media AG and BBC Worldwide is regarded as the most successful nature documentary of all time. EARTH is a film about the planet’s beauty, magic and fascination. It takes viewers on an unforgettable and moving journey around the globe. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, some of it specially developed, landscapes and animals in the wild can be observed in sensational quality and from perspectives impossible to see with the human eye alone.
