Almost 1.7 million people flocked to German cinemas on the very first weekend to see the 22nd James Bond adventure, which had been eagerly anticipated for months. QUANTUM OF SOLACE therefore achieved both the year’s best opening-weekend result and the best opening of any Bond film ever.
QUANTUM OF SOLACE even surpassed the impressive result of the previously most successful Bond film, CASINO ROYALE, two years earlier (CASINO ROYALE recorded around 1.3 million admissions on its opening weekend).
The world’s most famous secret agent can therefore celebrate a considerable quantum of success in Germany as well, after QUANTUM OF SOLACE had already broken all existing box-office records in the United Kingdom and delivered the most successful film opening of all time there.
The signs point to success across the rest of the world too: QUANTUM OF SOLACE reached number one in the cinema charts in all 67 countries where it had opened and surpassed the box office of its predecessor and previous record-holder, CASINO ROYALE.
