Contrary to the current market trend, prices for Sony’s entry-level projectors remain stable. Buyers of a VPL-ES5, VPL-EX5, VPL-EX50 or VPL-EW5 therefore benefit from price stability and additional investment protection: until 31 December 2008, the three years of PrimeSupport included with E-series projectors can be extended to five years free of charge. Smaller businesses and educational institutions benefit in particular, as they must carefully calculate potential follow-on costs when making a purchase decision.
The E-series projectors are the first entry-level business projectors to feature integrated BrightEra™ technology. The patented inorganic panels produce brighter, higher-contrast images than conventional 3LCD devices and have a significantly longer service life. This advanced technology is combined with a new, futuristic enclosure design. A year ago, the technology was used exclusively in high-end projectors; now a broader audience can benefit from its advantages. The VPL-EW5 also offers a model variant with WXGA resolution. Its aspect ratio matches the native resolution of many widescreen notebooks and is therefore very popular. With these portable models, Sony is targeting customers who value flexible mobile presentation solutions in business and training environments.
