More than 60 million CDs sold worldwide speak for themselves: Andrea Bocelli is undoubtedly one of Italy’s most famous opera tenors. As a world-class tenor, he places the highest demands not only on his voice but also on his technical equipment. It is therefore no surprise that Bocelli has relied on EDIROL quality for years.

For some time, Bocelli has used the renowned high-quality portable EDIROL R-09 audio recorder to capture the range and subtleties of his voice. At all times, he can rely on the R-09’s ease of use and its well-known recording quality.

His satisfaction with the R-09 led to curiosity about the revised successor model, the R-09HR. When he learned about the new device, Bocelli contacted EDIROL to arrange a demonstration, traveling especially to Sesto Fiorentino, where he met Gabriella Ferrario of EDIROL. After an initial test, Bocelli was enthusiastic: “The R-09HR delivers truly amazing sound quality for a device of this size!”

Bocelli uses the R-09 models to record spontaneous ideas that, as he says, can come to him at any time. Their compact size makes them easy and practical to transport—an important criterion for flexible use.

Alongside the convenient R-09HR, EDIROL’s compact new four-channel R-44 field recorder is also part of Bocelli’s technical equipment. “The EDIROL R-44 will find its perfect niche with me—especially for piano and voice recordings,” Bocelli said, pleased by the device’s versatile applications. Their outstanding sound quality makes the devices highly useful tools for musicians, journalists, podcasters, video makers, broadcasters, teachers and artists.

Tenor Bocelli naturally did not want to forgo the convenient advantages of the R-09HR and R-44 on his live tour, so the devices accompanied him on his tour through Asia and then to performances in Rome. “Everywhere I go, I will take my ‘little sound beauties’ to rehearsals.”
