Milne is one of the pioneers who combined CGI and live action. He founded Framestore’s first computer animation team in 1992. His greatest achievement is considered to be “Walking with Dinosaurs,” a television documentary about prehistoric reptiles that brought cinema-quality VFX to television screens for the first time in 1999. The documentary’s success led to numerous sequels and spin-offs, which he also supervised.

In his acceptance speech, Milne emphasized the collaborative nature of his projects and thanked his friends and colleagues for their many years of working together. Numerous Framestore employees attended the ceremony, including CEOs William Sargent and Sharon Reed.
