About the SM Pro Audio iNano
The SM Pro Audio iNano, or integrated Nano Patch, is ideal for controlling the volume of digital audio workstations and nonlinear video-editing solutions, as well as for fast, simple control of a PC sound card. Users no longer need to reduce computer volume through a software control, which reduces the output converter’s bit depth and can cause substantial quality loss. The iNano provides a completely passive signal path for distortion-free volume control of audio signals in stereo monitoring systems. The computer can therefore remain at full output while the iNano alone controls the system. The small volume controller is highly flexible, offering balanced XLR inputs alongside unbalanced 6.3mm jack and 3.5mm minijack inputs. Outputs include balanced 6.3mm jack connectors and a 3.5mm minijack socket for active loudspeakers.
The iNano can be used wherever analog audio-signal volume needs to be controlled. One possible application is setting the output level of a preamplifier. Its high-quality potentiometer does not alter the incoming signal, ensuring consistent audio quality. The iNano can also be used to adjust the signal from a digital-to-analog converter or as a local control center for computer-based recording systems. The possibilities are virtually unlimited.
