ITFS Competition Deadlines for Commissioned Animation and Screenplays Near

The competitions are being held as part of the 16th Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film.

Following its debut last year, the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film is again organizing its Under Commission competition for commissioned animation. Creatives can submit animated music videos, commercials and television trailers. A distinguished jury will honor the best films in the three categories. No fee is charged to enter a film.

With only a few days remaining, the organizers are now drawing attention to the submission deadline of 15 January 2009. Information about the competition, supported by Mackevision, the Art Directors Club Germany (ADC) and the Art Directors Club of Europe (ADC*E), is available from the ITFS website. Andrea Bauer is the contact for film submissions at +49 711 92546 115 or bauer@festival-gmbh.de.

The submission deadline for the German Animation Screenplay Award has also been extended. The award is aimed at feature-length animated-film projects written in German. Projects already in production are also eligible. Screenplays can be submitted until 15 January 2009. Entries should consist of complete screenplays or treatments accompanied by a ten-page screenplay extract. Submission details are listed on the entry form on the ITFS website. Andrea Bauer can provide further information using the contact details above.

The award for the best German-language screenplay for an animated feature film will be presented at a separate event during the festival. It carries €5,000 in prize money donated by the Evangelical Church in Germany.
