As in Batman Begins and Sin City, The Spirit takes us on the eerie, breathtaking and visionary journey of a hero who confronts the underworld armed with nothing but his pitch-black humor.

The special effects were supervised by Stu Maschwitz, co-founder and chief technology officer of San Francisco visual-effects and film-production company The Orphanage. He spent four years as a visual-effects artist at George Lucas’s Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), working on films including Twister (1996) and Men in Black (1997).
