When one of his former comrades is murdered, the washed-up but fiercely determined masked vigilante Rorschach begins investigating and uncovers a secret plan to betray and kill all superheroes. Rorschach once again joins forces with former members of the “League,” a diverse group of ex-superheroes who fought crime together in earlier days, although only one of them possesses genuine superpowers.
Rorschach gradually begins to realize that a conspiracy lies behind the murder: it concerns a secret rooted deep in the past that could have catastrophic consequences for the future. His group’s mission is now to watch over humanity—but who watches the Watchmen?
