At the beginning of 2009, gamescom is making another strong statement. Around a dozen members of the Interactive Software Federation of Europe (ISFE) will gather at the Cologne exhibition center on 9 and 10 February for their opening meeting of 2009.
Europe’s new trade fair and event highlight will naturally also be on the agenda at the Cologne venue. Olaf Wolters, managing director of the German Trade Association of Interactive Entertainment Software (BIU), and Oliver P. Kuhrt, managing director of Koelnmesse GmbH, expressed their satisfaction with the high number and international range of participants. Representatives from France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Denmark, Sweden and Poland, among others, have confirmed their attendance.
Speaking for the ISFE members ahead of the meeting, Daniel Hess, president of the Swiss Interactive Entertainment Association (SIEA), said: “As part of the international games market, SIEA is looking forward to Cologne and gamescom. For everyone in the Swiss games market, the internationally oriented trade fair and event platform—with its new products, trends and global networking opportunities—is the meeting place of 2009. I am convinced of that.”
