Quark Inc. yesterday announced the release of the QuarkXPress 8.02 update, which existing customers can download or try as a free 60-day trial. This version improves the installation process, adds user-interface localization in five more languages, and provides the familiar solid performance and reliability of QuarkXPress 8. It also resolves most issues reported by customers and supports Pantone Inc.’s latest updates to the PANTONE Goe color libraries.

QuarkXPress 8, available since last May, provides advanced design capabilities through a new intuitive user interface developed for creating high-quality page layouts, Flash® authoring tools for print and web design, design-driven typography and global publishing functionality. The QuarkXPress 8.02 update includes a localized user interface in five new languages: Danish, Norwegian, Czech, European Portuguese and Finnish. The new language features were developed and implemented in cooperation with partners and customers in the relevant markets.
Quark continues to give customers integrated access to the latest color systems by supporting Pantone’s newest colors (PANTONE Goe Bridge coated). QuarkXPress 8.02 includes unattended-installation functions that simplify network deployment. The activation process has also been simplified and now permits a direct transition from the 60-day trial to the full version without reinstalling QuarkXPress.
