The spotlight TALENT competition on MyVideo invites emerging filmmakers to enter environmental commercials.

Through an exclusive online partnership, MyVideo is supporting the established spotlight advertising-film festival with the first spotlight TALENT Award. The prize forms part of spotlight’s annual creative competition for commercials and is supported by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment. Alongside advertising professionals, emerging creative talent can upload an environmental commercial to a dedicated channel on ProSiebenSat.1’s MyVideo community. The subject may be energy saving, renewable energy or environmental protection. Entries can be entertaining, reflective, funny, sad, live-action or computer-animated, but must not exceed 120 seconds.

Of all commercials uploaded to MyVideo by March 25, 2009, the ten most-viewed entries will reach the final. On March 26, the spotlight jury, again comprising representatives from leading advertising agencies and film-production companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, will select three winners. The awards will be presented during the major spotlight festival evening in Ravensburg on March 27, 2009, featuring Oliver Kalkofe, Helmut Zerlett, former Söhne Mannheims member Rolf Stahlhofen and special guest Max Mutzke.

First prize is a one-week internship with Munich television-production company CMP Creative Media Production GmbH, producer of the TV program “Die witzigsten Werbespots der Welt.” Travel to Munich and accommodation in a four-star hotel are included. The winner will also receive a meet-and-greet with festival host and Grimme Award recipient Oliver Kalkofe.

Second prize is a Sony Ericsson C905 camera phone, while third prize is an Apple iPod touch. Each winner will also receive two VIP tickets to the festival and awards ceremony in Ravensburg. The winning entries will each be featured on MyVideo.de for one day as Video of the Day.

“With the spotlight TALENT Award, the organizers have created another effective opportunity to introduce previously unknown filmmaking talent to the public and give them a stage for their ideas,” said Dominic Hesse, head of marketing and communications at Magic Internet GmbH, MyVideo.de’s media agency. “We want this competition to expand our existing commitment to supporting talent, and we look forward to receiving many strong entries.”
