Koelnmesse International is organizing a joint German pavilion at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

The Game Developers Conference in San Francisco is approaching. From March 23 to 27, 2009, the city will again become a meeting point for programmers, designers, producers, sound specialists and decision-makers from the international games industry. At the request of the German game-developers association G.A.M.E., the Federal Republic of Germany will participate in GDC 2009 with a joint corporate pavilion. The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology has commissioned Koelnmesse International GmbH, a subsidiary of Koelnmesse GmbH, to organize and operate the German pavilion. Seventeen German companies will present themselves across approximately 200 square meters, including Bigpoint, Frogster Interactive Pictures, Chimera Entertainment and the gamescom team.

The pavilion is located in the North Hall of the Moscone Center at booth 5428. Information is available at http://www.gdc.german-pavilion.com.

The gamescom team will use its presence in the United States to brief American industry participants and media representatives about the new trade-fair and event highlight in Cologne, scheduled for August 19 to 23, 2009. GDC Europe, the European counterpart to GDC San Francisco, will take place immediately before gamescom from August 17 to 19, 2009. The joint appearance in the United States is another international initiative by Koelnmesse in the run-up to gamescom.

The German federal government’s official foreign trade-fair program supports international business development, particularly for small and medium-sized companies entering new markets. Companies participating under the “Made in Germany” banner benefit from favorable terms, shared infrastructure and joint marketing. In addition to the pavilion at GDC San Francisco, Koelnmesse International organizes German group participation for industries represented at the Cologne trade-fair center. To maintain a presence in the American market, G.A.M.E. is already seeking to have GDC included again in the 2010 foreign trade-fair program.
