Digital Anarchy released a Photoshop edition of Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator, complementing the After Effects version. The plug-in lets Photoshop users create complex 3D objects, logos, and text.
3D Invigorator accepts outlines from Adobe Illustrator or text created in Photoshop. It converts the graphics into 3D objects, while its vector tools support real-time changes. An integrated text engine converts TrueType and Type 1 fonts. Photoshop functions including Smart Objects and Smart Filters are supported.
The built-in text designer creates, extrudes, and adds detail to three-dimensional text. A complete 3D environment lets users rotate objects and cameras, view designs from any angle, and combine individual elements into new arrangements.
Render modes include wireframe, cartoon, and ray tracing. More than 100 material presets provide gold, chrome, glass, and other surfaces. Users can import their own materials or build them with Invigorator tools.
3D Invigorator for Photoshop was available for Windows, excluding 64-bit Windows XP, and Mac at an introductory price of $149 through April 30, after which the price was scheduled to rise to $199. Discount bundles were not yet available. The plug-in supported Photoshop CS2 and later, with CS3 or CS4 recommended.
