For the first time, the animation industry’s most important prize, the animago AWARD, will be presented in Potsdam-Babelsberg.

The animation industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the media. “An award for the future such as the animago AWARD belongs at a media location such as Berlin-Babelsberg,” explains Matthias J. Lange, Head of animago. Funding from Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg gives animago an even greater standing in the industry than before.

As the most important competition, the animago AWARD is an impressive showcase of achievement that has been held for 13 consecutive years. Films such as “Ratatouille”, virtual worlds such as “Second Life”, video games such as “World of Warcraft” and almost all commercials would not be possible without animation.

Entries can still be submitted free of charge at http://www.animago.com until 30 June 2009.
