Ultrasone presented its home and studio headphone range to professional visitors at High End 2009. Alongside established PRO and HFI models and its DJ headphones, the company showed the new Edition 8 luxury model, which had attracted attention at Musikmesse Frankfurt. Ultrasone exhibited in Hall 3, stand F06, from May 21 to 24, 2009.

The range extended from portable entry-level Zino models, successors to the iCans series, through the six-model HFI range and professional PRO family to the DJ1 and DJ1 PRO. Edition 8 completed the range for demanding users. Every headphone used Ultrasone’s patented S-Logic technology, designed for precise reproduction and a live-concert impression while reducing sound pressure by approximately 3–4 dB and claimed ear exposure by as much as 40%.

The HFI range began with the light portable HFI-15G, while the HFI-450 entered studio and home use. HFI-580 targeted guitarists and drummers with powerful bass. HFI-680 and HFI-780 served professional and demanding consumer users, and HFI-2200 used a gold-coated 40 mm driver for three-dimensional reproduction.

Ultrasone developed the PRO range for professional users, particularly studios, combining robust construction with comfort. The line began with PRO 550 and ended with PRO 900, introduced the previous year in black with black and silver velour-covered ear pads and a diamond-cut logo plate.

DJ1 and DJ1 PRO used closed construction to isolate ambient noise and 50 mm Mylar drivers for powerful sound. Each ear cup rotated and folded away for single-ear monitoring, while the headset folded compactly into its supplied transport bag.

Edition 8 combined black and silver styling with Ethiopian sheepskin ear pads for softness, comfort and isolation. The ear cups were coated in ruthenium for durability and a metallic finish. Each numbered headset was supplied in a Madras goatskin bag.

The full range could be seen and tested at stand F06 in Hall 3 during High End 2009. Ultrasone also planned a visitor headphone giveaway. Products were available through http://www.shop.ultrasone.com, with a 30-day trial for online purchasers.
