Turtle Entertainment opened the competition among Germany’s leading esports players. With €130,000 in prize money, the ESL Pro Series was the country’s most highly funded electronic-sports competition. Intel Friday Night Games presented leading players live before audiences, with Offenbach joining the nine-event roadshow for the first time.
Eight other weekly events during the ESL Pro Series season attracted esports fans across Germany. The ESL presented leading matches in each discipline to audiences of up to 2,000, with professional presenters providing commentary and analysis. Events also included autograph sessions, partner stands and a free-gaming area.
ESL TV, available via IPTV at http://tv.esl.eu, broadcast the season’s Intel Friday Night Games live and in full. The ESL Pro Series culminated in a June finals weekend at EXPO XXI in Cologne, where more than 5,000 spectators were expected.
