Disney/Pixar Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter joined director Pete Docter, producer Jonas Rivera, co-director and screenwriter Bob Peterson, and Pixar founding member and Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios President Ed Catmull. French voice actors Charles Aznavour, who voiced Carl, and Tom Trouffier, who voiced Russell, also met the international press for photographs and interviews that afternoon.
That evening, the group walked the red carpet at the Palais du Festival for the premiere of UP. The film received a standing ovation after the screening.
UP was scheduled to open in German cinemas on September 24, 2009, with 3D screenings at many venues.
